A multi-national corporate Bank has deployed e-days across the globe in order to modernise their processes for vacation and absence management.

The organisation had previously been using a combination of email, excel spreadsheets and paper cards to keep track of requests, authorisation status, entitlements and sick leave. With over 1,000 employees in the UK alone this was leading to a range of mistakes, costs and inefficiencies.

The organisation had a set of criteria which had to be met by any system:

a. It must be quick and easy to deploy.

The organisation was able to evaluate and agree to implement e-days within 3 weeks and subsequently tested and deployed to over 1,000 users in three countries in less than 3 weeks from then.

There were no system requirements and no on-site visits required by the e-days team. The implementation process simply required 2 spreadsheets to be filled out and a configuration consultation call.

b. It must be cost-effective

During the evaluation period e-days and this organisation assessed the potential pool of costs associated with absence in the organisation. By taking into account industry standard estimates of the costs of absence and the administrative time associated with it both parties cautiously underestimated the cost of absence in the UK alone as £1.8 Million.

With the annual cost of absence coming in at such huge figures there are potentially huge savings to be had. As e-days cost them less than the cost of 1 full time employee per year this organisation are on track to gain a fantastic return on their investment in Year 1 alone.

c. It must be intuitive to users and administrators alike.

During a recent e-days customer survey 92% of our clients said that feedback from their employees indicates that e-days was “easy & intuitive” to use.

Little or no training is required to get up and running on the system and the web like interface ensures the learning curve is almost non-existent.
